About the Role
The Clinical Lab Assistant will independently perform one or more laboratory modalities such as check-in and order entry, general and special phlebotomy, specimen processing, assisting provider procedures, lab equipment maintenance, sample testing, problem resolution, and department-specific technical assistance. Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, observing and training staff or students, handling hospital communications including on-call duties, performing clerical tasks, ensuring confidentiality, and participating in coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated schooling or laboratory experience to qualify as Level 1 or higher.
- Basic PC skills.
- Effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record and insurability.
- Eligibility to work in a healthcare facility per applicable laws.
- Immunity or immunization for Hepatitis B, rubella, rubeola, varicella, and recent PPD test as required.
Preferred:
- PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program.
