ESTAT Actuation is seeking a Co-op: Materials Engineer - Focus Wear and Durability to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves improving the longevity of products by sourcing new materials and performing durability testing.
About the Role
As a Co-op Materials Engineer, you will assist with literature reviews, identify and source new candidate materials for electroadhesive products, perform testing to determine material durability and electroadhesive performance, and support quality control of standard materials. You will also assist with environmental testing of the Light Weight Electroadhesive Exotendon (LEET) system and may have opportunities to visit labs for mil-spec testing.
About You
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant engineering program (preferably Juniors or Seniors).
- Strong foundation in scientific experimentation and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Matlab and Python.
- Hands-on experience in materials testing and analysis.
