As a Coding and Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for independently performing complex coding for outpatients, monitoring daily revenue reports, investigating billing code issues, and ensuring compliance with medical records and billing standards. You will also supervise clerical staff and handle patient information regarding treatment and diagnosis.
About You
Required:
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college with an Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology or Medical Records Technology; OR Certification in coding and billing with one year of experience in a medical setting; OR Five years of coding and billing experience in a medical setting.
Preferred:
- Good knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to ensure confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
