Summary
Gastro Health is seeking a full-time Coding Specialist to join their team in Miami, FL. The role involves managing medical coding and billing processes to ensure accurate claims processing.
About the Role
As a Coding Specialist, you will work closely with the Manager of Coding Operations and the management team to ensure compliance with coding guidelines. Your responsibilities will include dropping claims for various medical services, reviewing medical documentation for accurate coding, applying billing guidelines, preparing claims for processing, providing feedback to office managers and physicians, and managing claims for auditing purposes.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have CPC or equivalent certification.
- Extensive knowledge of patient registration, coding, billing, regulatory requirements, and billing compliance.
- Certified coder AAPC or AHIMA.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and Office products.
Preferred:
- Prior experience collaborating with a remote team.
- Hands-on participation in process/workflow design.
