Veros Credit is seeking a Collections Specialist (First Payment Default) to join their team in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves servicing auto loan accounts that default on the first contractual payment or shortly after account origination.
About the Role
As a Collections Specialist, you will act as an intermediary between customers and dealers to resolve contract and vehicle concerns. Your responsibilities will include conducting outbound and inbound calls, negotiating payment commitments, performing skip-tracing, initiating repossession efforts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). You will work in a fast-paced environment and be expected to meet daily and monthly goals.
About You
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in the consumer lending collections field, preferably in the subprime auto industry.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently and as part of a team.
- Available to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as needed.
