About the Role
As a Community Associate, you will work under the guidance of the Social Service Director to engage with migrant and asylum-seeking individuals and families. Your responsibilities will include conducting culturally sensitive assessments, making referrals to community-based programs, and coordinating with various city agencies and organizations to address the needs of clients.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant social services experience with vulnerable populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and problem solve.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with two years of relevant experience.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Solid understanding of trauma and experience delivering trauma-informed services.
- Crisis intervention experience.
- Knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
