Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking a Computational Scientist 2 to join their team in the United States. The role involves developing physics-based computational tools and scientific machine learning methods for modeling complex systems.
About the Role
As a Computational Scientist 2, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing high-performance numerical algorithms for large-scale scientific computing, collaborating with a diverse team, publishing research results, and participating in the development of research proposals. You will work closely with physical scientists and engineers in various disciplines such as Earth system modeling and materials science.
About You
Required:
BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR- MS/MA -OR- PhD
Preferred:
Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related Engineering area with postdoctoral experience.
Demonstrated expertise in multiscale/multiphysics modeling, traditional scientific computing, or scientific machine learning.
Proficiency in developing scientific software using C/C++, FORTRAN, CUDA, and Python.
Experience developing high-performance parallel computing code for both CPUs and GPUs.
Proven track record in preparing manuscript submissions to scientific journals.
