About the Role
As a Confidential Administrative Assistant, you will assist in administering projects related to City employees, manage routine filing, and support the Department in all facets of City onboarding processes. You will work with the Business Administration and Law Department to prepare correspondence and other documents, serve as a liaison between the public and various departments, and maintain effective working relationships. Additionally, you will prepare meeting agendas, schedule appointments, and organize special events.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient with computers, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to work independently on difficult or complex secretarial tasks.
- Ability to exercise professionalism, good judgement, and tact in answering questions of the public.
- Must attain a residence in the City of Scranton within six (6) months from the date of appointment.
Preferred:
- Secretarial experience preferred.
- Ability to learn applicable procedural guidelines related to applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
- Ability to attend evening meetings outside of normal business hours.
