About the Role
As a Construction Defect Claim Consultant, you will be responsible for handling medium to high exposure claims within the Complex Claims Unit. Your duties will include proactive communication with customers, analyzing complex policies, conducting investigations, managing litigation, and developing assessments and recommendations for leadership. You will also engage in negotiations and maintain up-to-date claims metrics.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; J.D. or CRIS designation is a plus.
- 5+ years general liability claim handling experience, with a preference for construction defect claim handling experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Active Property & Casualty State Insurance Adjuster license, preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience in handling affirmative/defensive risk transfer.
- Strong customer service and active listening skills.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Working proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
