BNY is seeking a Controller, Real Estate Fund Accounting Manager to join their alternative operations team in New York or Lake Mary, Florida. The role involves directing multiple Fund Accounting teams and managing financial resources to ensure effective operations.
About the Role
As a Controller, you will oversee accounting services for a diverse range of clients, manage relationships, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. You will direct processes for determining net asset values, prepare financial reports, and lead teams to achieve unit goals. Your responsibilities will also include evaluating GAAP and IFRS rules, recruiting and developing staff, and managing relationships with auditors.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial real estate fund accounting and financial statement preparation/review leadership experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP, Investment Company, IFRS, and SEC rules applicable to commercial real estate investment funds.
- Ability to effectively lead collaborative teams across different locations.
- Working knowledge of joint venture waterfalls and partnership structures.
Preferred:
- REIT experience.
- Experience with Yardi, Investran, or WDesk.
