About the Role
As a Cook's Helper, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, USDA-approved meals, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and classroom areas, and keeping accurate nutrition records. You will work under the supervision of the Center Director and collaborate with various staff to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent, plus current food handler’s certificate.
- Experience in purchasing and preparing culturally diverse foods for groups.
- Knowledge of early childhood nutrition.
- Basic computer skills for record keeping.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with USDA, Head Start, and CACFP guidelines.
