Acquire4Hire is seeking a Cook to join their team in Ansonia, CT. The role involves preparing fresh, nutritious meals for a preschool of 60 children while ensuring a safe and organized kitchen environment.
About the Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with program guidelines, planning weekly menus, ordering supplies, maintaining a clean kitchen, conducting inventory, and supporting classroom staff in serving family-style meals. You will also attend required trainings and perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
About You
Required:
- Ability to lift, bend, crouch, and carry items as needed to complete daily kitchen tasks.
- Current ServSafe Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Strong understanding of safe food-handling, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow CACFP guidelines and center policies related to nutrition and meal service.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff and leadership.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
