About the Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking resident meals in quantities according to the menu and number of persons served. You will ensure meals are prepared according to proper methods and cooking temperatures, clean work areas and equipment, and serve food according to dietary guidelines. Additionally, you will monitor portion control, prepare food for special occasions, and attend in-service education programs.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience in preparing foods in large quantities in a healthcare setting.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working as a cook in a healthcare setting.
