About the Role
As a Coordinator in the Transportation Capacity Command Center, you will perform tasks to ensure that patients have financial clearance for transportation on the date of service. This includes monthly reconciliations, insurance verifications, pre-certifications, authorizations for services, and providing patient estimates. You will uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.
About You
Required:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare, or related field, or previous experience in patient transportation, or 1 year of experience in a role-related field.
- Knowledge of general medical terminology.
- Knowledge of software programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare, or related field.
- Knowledge of third-party payer information systems and portals.
