About the Role
As a Correctional Officer 1, you will be responsible for maintaining the security of the institution, controlling movement within the facility, and serving as a positive role model for incarcerated individuals. You will assist in their rehabilitation and ensure a safe environment for both staff and inmates. The position requires successful completion of a six-week training academy and ongoing on-the-job training.
About You
Required:
- Graduation from high school or GED.
- Valid Driver's license.
- The legal right to carry a firearm.
Preferred:
- One year of experience as a Department of Corrections (DOC) Corrections and Custody Officer.
- One year of experience as a Correctional Officer in adult or juvenile corrections.
