About the Role
As a Correctional Officer I, you will undergo intensive training, starting with a week of observation at the facility, followed by six weeks at the Vermont Correctional Academy. You will participate in onsite training and work a 2-2-3 shift schedule, which allows for a better work-life balance. Your responsibilities will include maintaining safety and security within the facility, adhering to key practices of customer service and holistic service, and participating in ongoing training and evaluations.
About You
Required:
- High school graduation or equivalent AND two (2) years or more full-time work experience.
- OR one (1) year or more of college level course work AND one (1) year or more of full-time work experience.
- OR two (2) years or more of college level course work.
- Adequate physical condition to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a correctional setting.
- Military experience.
