About the Role
As a Correctional Officer I, you will undergo intensive training, starting with a week of observation at the correctional facility, followed by six weeks at the Vermont Correctional Academy. You will participate in onsite training and work on a 2-2-3 schedule that allows for better work-life balance. Your responsibilities will include maintaining safety and security within the facility, interacting with inmates, and adhering to key practices of customer service and holistic service.
About You
Required:
- High school graduation or equivalent AND two (2) years or more full-time work experience.
- OR one (1) year or more of college level course work AND one (1) year or more of full-time work experience.
- OR two (2) years or more of college level course work.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a correctional setting.
- Military experience.
