About the Role
As a Correctional Youth Security Officer I, you will be responsible for the safety, security, and supervision of adjudicated and/or pre-adjudicated youth. Your duties will include monitoring youth behavior, implementing behavioral management programs, documenting activities, and maintaining a positive organizational culture. You will also participate in training and may be required to work overtime based on business needs.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Ability to physically intervene with assaultive youth.
Preferred:
- College education in a behavioral health or juvenile justice-related field.
- Experience working with adjudicated and/or detained youth within a secure residential facility.
- Experience facilitating psychoeducational groups.
- Education/experience working with adolescents who have trauma.
- Experience utilizing verbal de-escalation and motivational techniques.
