About the Role
As a Corrections Counselor 2, you will be responsible for providing complex counseling and casework duties to inmates with difficult behavior and adjustment problems. You will utilize various counseling methods to assist inmates in solving social, economic, and emotional problems, and participate in parole planning and recommendations for re-entry services.
About You
Required:
- One year as a Corrections Counselor 1 or equivalent experience.
- One year of professional counseling or casework experience in a correctional facility, and a bachelor's degree in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field.
Preferred:
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional counseling or casework experience in a correctional facility and 18 college credits in relevant fields.
Benefits
- Full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week, with a work schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
