About the Role
As a Corrections Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining security and order within the jail, supervising inmate activities, conducting well-being checks, and enforcing rules and regulations. Your duties will include booking incoming inmates, maintaining accurate logs, supervising visitors, and ensuring compliance with court orders. You will also be involved in transporting inmates and providing courtroom security.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Any combination of general work experience or post high school education that equals two years.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be certified, or ability to obtain certification, in CPR and basic life saving techniques and First Aid.
- Pass a criminal history background investigation.
Preferred:
- Two-year community college degree or vocational degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, police science or related field.
