Summary
The Women's Center is seeking a Court Advocate to join their team in New Bedford, MA. The role involves assisting victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking under the SAFEPLAN Program.
About the Role
As a Court Advocate, you will identify and prioritize clients' needs, conduct trauma-informed counseling, provide crisis intervention, co-facilitate group sessions, and maintain accurate client records. You will also be responsible for providing updates to the Counseling Advocacy Manager and may take on additional responsibilities as a Medical Advocate.
About You
Required:
- Strong commitment to collaboration, adaptability, and communication.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities, including time management and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online reporting programs.
Preferred:
- Multi-lingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese).
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a legal or human services field.
- Three years of experience working with domestic violence or crime victims.
- Knowledge of legal issues affecting victims of domestic violence and/or understanding of the criminal justice system.
