About the Role
As a Court Representative, you will report to the SVP of Liability Claims and work closely with trial counsel during mediations, trials, and conferences. Your responsibilities will include monitoring litigated claims, making settlement calls, reviewing case files, and documenting activities in ImageRight. You will also participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree; Law Degree would be a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role involving court appearances, trial attendance, and mediations/arbitrations.
- Knowledge of the New York court system.
Preferred:
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Highly skilled in trial preparation.
- Good knowledge of the law, settlement values, judges, adversaries, defense firms, and venues.
- Knowledge of New York State Insurance Department regulations including fair claim standards.
