Pine Street Inn is seeking a Crisis Clinician – Shelter Clinical Services to join their team in Boston, MA. The role involves developing and offering trauma-informed and solution-focused interventions to promote stability, wellness, and recovery for individuals in shelter environments.
About the Role
As a Crisis Clinician, you will work closely with other clinicians and case managers to provide interventions that restore shelter environments to a non-crisis state. Your responsibilities will include activating personal crisis plans, conducting in-person risk assessments, making referrals to respite or detox, and coordinating with emergency services personnel. You will also participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and collaborate with the Shelter and Triage Clinicians.
About You
Required:
- Master’s degree or higher in a related field (i.e. social work, clinical psychology, counseling, etc.)
- Currently certified in, or ability to achieve CPR and First Aid certification within 3 months of hire
- Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
- At least 3 years’ experience providing services to adults with mental illness and substance use disorders
- At least 1 year experience working with homeless populations
- Strong commitment to the rights of individuals with mental health and substance use challenges
- Experience and knowledge of recovery models and practice
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and writing risk assessments
- Ability to utilize effective crisis intervention techniques
- Proficiency in word processing and other computer functions
- Demonstrated professional communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- LICSW, LMHC or other qualified licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire
- Experience working with individuals in varied community-based settings
- Experience collaborating with medical and behavioral health staff in community-based settings
- Experience in an inpatient/outpatient crisis response setting
