About You
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of the geography of the community and the location of important buildings.
- Ability to observe situations analytically and report them clearly.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
- Good general intelligence and emotional stability.
- Ability to interact tactfully with the public, especially children.
- Physically able to perform the duties of a crossing guard in any weather conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions in English.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence in English.
- Ability to speak effectively to children, parents, and school officials.
- Must attend a mandatory School Crossing Guard class.
- Experience in a similar role or environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
