YMCA of Central Massachusetts is seeking a Custodial and Maintenance Technician (Full-Time) to join their team in Worcester, MA. The role involves maintaining facility cleanliness and safety, repairing building systems, and supporting program operations.
About the Role
As a Custodial and Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all areas, troubleshooting and repairing building systems, performing preventive maintenance, supporting program operations, monitoring facility conditions, maintaining pool areas, providing customer service, managing inventory, responding to emergencies, and integrating YMCA's mission and values into your work.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, equipment repair, or custodial work.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Basic computer skills for work order tracking and communication.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred:
- Vocational or technical training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related field.
- Experience in maintaining and repairing fitness equipment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
