Qualcomm Incorporated is seeking a Principal Cyber Security Engineer to join their AI Cybersecurity Team in San Diego, CA. The role involves leading the design, implementation, and governance of security measures across the organization’s AI ecosystem.
About the Role
As a Principal Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that AI models, platforms, and applications are secure, resilient, and compliant with evolving regulatory and ethical standards. Your key responsibilities include staying ahead of emerging threats targeting AI systems, contributing to the design and implementation of AI Gateway controls, defining and tracking AI security KPIs, and serving as a technical mentor across teams. You will also troubleshoot AI security issues and conduct adversarial penetration tests on AI-powered solutions.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of cybersecurity-relevant work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of cybersecurity-relevant work experience.
Preferred:
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 3+ years in AI/ML security.
Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and associated security risks.
Experience with secure ML pipelines, adversarial machine learning, and AI model evaluation.
Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and ethical AI principles.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
