Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a Cytotechnologist to join their team in Tucson, Arizona. The role involves providing Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) and adequacy assessment for fine needle aspiration procedures, as well as performing digital cytology.
About the Role
As a Cytotechnologist, you will be responsible for the microscopic examination and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens for the diagnosis of malignant and pre-malignant conditions. You will assist with fine needle aspiration collection and screening, maintain daily workload records, and participate in proficiency testing and continuing education.
About You
Required:
Completion of cytotechnology program from a CAAHEP accredited school.
ASCP certification or eligibility required.
A Bachelor's degree is required for individuals registered by the ASCP after September 1, 1994.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Attaining 90% on an internal proficiency test at the time of interview.
Passing annually the required CAP-PT or approved alternative by CLIA.
Maintaining 80% proficiency on quarterly GYN CAP mailings and 24 continuing education credits each year.
Preferred:
ThinPrep Certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience.
