About the Role
As a Dam Safety Engineer/ Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for supporting inspections and engineering assessments of existing dams and water retaining structures. Your daily tasks will include conducting analyses, evaluations, and designs; developing design options or recommendations with supporting calculations; and preparing contract documents including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams on various hydropower, pumped storage, and dam safety engineering projects, and participate in risk assessments for dams and hydraulic structures.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- MS Office and MS Project experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Geological, or Geotechnical engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Geotechnical, Geological, Civil/Structural, Hydrology and Hydraulics, or Mechanical engineering
- Experience with dams and water conveyances associated with hydropower projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience specific to the hydropower industry
