Summary
Carilion Clinic is seeking a Data Analyst I to join their team remotely. The role involves supporting enterprise data warehouse and reporting efforts, translating data into actionable insights, and improving business decision-making.
About the Role
As a Data Analyst I, you will support data warehouse initiatives, respond to business data requests, analyze workflows, identify data integrity issues, and propose solutions. You will maintain and update business glossary and data dictionary, create and maintain reference materials and data models, assist in training and mentoring, and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders on data intelligence projects. You will also contribute to data governance and data quality programs.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 4 years working with enterprise data sources and BI tools in healthcare or financial environments.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- At least one of the following certifications: CBAP, CBIP, CDMP, DGSP.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with dimensional databases, cubes, and/or columnar data structures.
- Familiarity with Business Objects, Oracle, Cognos, IBM InfoSphere, or related tools.
- Understanding of the 7-layer OSI model and experience with data profiling.
