Summary
Zenlayer Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join their team in Akron, Ohio. The role involves providing technical support and maintenance for the Internet Data Center (IDC) operations.
About the Role
As a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for managing server and network hardware, performing installations and testing of copper and fiber infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Your daily tasks will include cabling and installation, asset management, providing smart-hands assistance, and maintaining a clean and secure operational environment. You will also be required to report on service availability and performance, and coordinate equipment handling as needed.
About You
Required:
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (listen, speak, read, and write).
- Strong knowledge of networking, servers, and operating systems, including TCP/IP.
- Ability to lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- More than 1 year of experience in Internet Data Center operations.
- Previous managerial experience in a related field.
- Relevant IDC certifications or awards.
