Peregrine Advisors Benefit Inc. is seeking a Data Governance and Policy Specialist to join their Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) support team in Washington, DC. The role involves developing and implementing robust data governance frameworks and aligning policy with federal data regulations.
About the Role
As a Data Governance and Policy Specialist, you will provide subject matter expertise on governance framework development, analyze enterprise-wide data requirements, develop and implement data governance policies, monitor changes in laws related to data use, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and conduct assessments of data policy compliance.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree +2 years of experience in governance framework development and implementation or Advanced degree.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with applicable data protection laws and regulations (e.g., CUI, FDTA, OGDA, Federal Data Strategy).
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Mental flexibility to quickly adapt to new tasks and requirements in a highly dynamic environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to travel to Washington DC as needed.
- Must be a citizen of the USA and only the USA able to hold a Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred:
- Experience working with legal teams on data policy development and implementation.
