Summary
IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Data Platform Architect for the 26-27 school year, with a target start date of July 1, 2026. This senior technical leader will ensure the coherence, scalability, and integrity of IDEA's modern data platform.
About the Role
As a Data Platform Architect, you will define and maintain reference architectures for IDEA's modern data platform, establish architectural standards, serve as the architectural authority for design decisions, and mentor data platform engineers. You will work closely with the Managing Director of Data Platform & Engineering to translate platform strategy into actionable guidance, ensuring that decisions are durable, secure, and cost-effective.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years designing and supporting enterprise data platforms.
- Deep experience with cloud data architectures (Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable platforms).
- Strong background in dimensional modeling, ELT pipelines, and analytics engineering patterns.
Preferred:
- Experience with data quality and observability tooling.
- Familiarity with semantic layers and metrics stores.
- Knowledge of data mesh or federated analytics patterns.
