HUB International is seeking a Deputy General Counsel, Risk & Insurance to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves providing legal counsel on regulatory and compliance matters, focusing on the Property and Casualty sector and managing a team of attorneys.

About the Role

As the Deputy General Counsel, you will be a key member of HUB's Legal & Compliance leadership team, responsible for offering legal advice to corporate leadership and overseeing insurance regulatory matters. Your duties will include negotiating significant contracts, managing litigation, and providing guidance on corporate governance and compliance issues. You will also support M&A activities and ensure alignment of policies across operations.

About You

Required:

Active J.D. in good standing required in at least one state.
15+ years of broad legal experience working on complex legal and insurance regulatory issues.
Deep experience with contract negotiations and drafting in the insurance brokerage space.

Preferred:

Prior experience in developing and managing other attorneys.
Experience working on regulatory responses including complaint responses and regulatory audits.
Broad and in-depth understanding of the commercial insurance business, including MGA, MGU and non-admitted markets.
