County of Blair is seeking two part-time Deputy Sheriffs to join their team in Hollidaysburg, PA. The role involves enforcing state and local laws relating to public safety and public welfare.
About the Role
As a Deputy Sheriff, you will perform security duties for the County of Blair Courthouse, provide law enforcement and security for internal and external customers, patrol throughout Blair County, enforce violations of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Vehicle Code, apprehend and detain suspects, serve legal documents, complete daily activity reports, transport and supervise prisoners, and maintain proficiency in firearms and driving skills.
About You
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of Pennsylvania Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Education and Training Program or a municipal/state police training academy within 12 months of hire.
Minimum of one year's work experience.
At least 21 years old at time of employment.
Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
No state or federal convictions for crimes punishable by imprisonment.
Benefits
Starting wage of $19.35/hour for a workweek not to exceed an annual average of 29 hours.
