Maple is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team in New York, NY. The role involves building AI agents for local businesses and designing tools that enhance product functionality.
About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for owning product surfaces such as dashboards and internal tools. Your tasks will include building product-facing tools using TypeScript, React, and Tailwind, designing intuitive customer interfaces, developing reusable components, and contributing to the UI architecture. You will work closely with founders, engineers, and customers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
About You
Required:
- Strong experience in React, TypeScript, CSS, and modern frontend workflows.
- Experience designing and building tools, dashboards, and/or configuration UIs.
- Comfortable owning full features from wireframe to code.
Preferred:
- Product taste: you know when something feels right and why.
- Systems thinking: you like building primitives, not one-offs.
- Bonus: experience with Figma, LLMs, conversational interfaces, or backend TypeScript.
- 4–8+ years experience preferred, but we’re flexible for the right person.
