About the Role
As the Director, Communication and Community Relations, you will be responsible for facilitating community relationships, serving as a key point of contact for local businesses and residents, engaging with employee groups and students, providing guidance on communication issues, and developing the College Communication Plan. You will also supervise staff, coordinate crisis communications, and manage the college's social media presence.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field plus five years experience.
- Three years in directing media relations or community relations.
- A working knowledge of print and electronic media, ability to write and speak effectively, and ability to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees.
- Experience in developing and implementing community relations and strategic communications.
