UNC Health is seeking a Director of Cost Accounting - Financial Planning to lead the system-wide cost accounting and decision support function for an integrated healthcare system in Morrisville, NC.
About the Role
As the Director of Cost Accounting, you will be responsible for owning the Strata (StrataJazz) cost accounting model, ensuring accurate and actionable cost insights that inform pricing, growth strategy, and performance. You will lead the design and implementation of cost accounting methodologies, develop cost models, provide insights for pricing strategies, and manage a team of cost accountants. Collaboration with clinical and operational leaders is essential to evaluate cost efficiency and support capital planning and budgeting processes.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Health Administration, or related field.
- 8-10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in healthcare, with 5+ years in cost accounting/decision support and at least five years in a management role.
- Direct experience administering Strata (StrataJazz) cost accounting.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MS Accounting/Finance).
- Proficiency with Strata (StrataJazz) modules and familiarity with EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Strong Excel and data skills; SQL/BI (Power BI/Tableau) preferred.
