Summary
Cognify Global is seeking a Director of Automation to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in Moorestown, NJ. The role involves overseeing engineering projects, managing a team, and ensuring the delivery of safe and cost-effective automation solutions.
About the Role
As the Director of Automation, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, oversee engineering scope for projects from proposal to commissioning, standardize engineering processes, and collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams. You will also identify improvements in engineering tools and contribute to strategic planning.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in industrial controls/automation and/or industrial electrical design.
- 5+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or lead engineer role.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation).
- Proficiency with common tools such as AutoCAD or similar, plus at least one major PLC/HMI platform (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in an industrial electrical contracting or system integrator environment (design–build or design–assist).
- Experience leading engineering support for field installation and startup.
- Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and/or working within a data/metrics-driven culture.
