Medix™ is seeking a Director of Hospital Billing to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves leading revenue cycle operations across acute care, post-acute, and outpatient facilities.
About the Role
As the Director of Hospital Billing, you will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and performance management for all facets of hospital billing and collections. You will lead a team of 30+ professionals, oversee billing performance for multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities, manage significant accounts receivable and cash collections, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive hospital billing experience; 5+ years in leadership
- Experience with large, multi-facility health systems
- Expertise in CMS rules, UB-04, and specialty billing
- Strong analytical and process improvement skills
Preferred:
- Experience in an Epic environment
- Coding or billing certification
- Academic health system experience
