BioSpace is seeking a Director, Patent Attorney for Genetics Medicines (CRISPR) to join their team in Tarrytown, NY. The role involves partnering with research teams to develop, protect, and manage the company's intellectual property in genetic medicines.
About the Role
As the Director, Patent Attorney, you will collaborate with scientists and business units to identify inventions in genetic medicines, coordinate patent filings, and protect trade secrets. Responsibilities include managing patent actions, conducting legal analyses, and advising on emerging legal issues while ensuring compliance with the highest legal and ethical standards.
About You
Required:
Ph.D. in life sciences (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, immunology, neuroscience) with significant research experience.
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admitted to practice before the USPTO.
At least 5 years of experience in biotechnology patent law with a minimum of 3 years in patent application preparation and prosecution.

Experience collaborating with top-tier scientists and business units.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Exceptional communication skills, including presentation and conflict resolution.
