Summary
Samsara is seeking a Director, Product Management - Vehicle Platform to join their team in a remote position. The role involves owning the Vehicle Platform that powers Samsara's vehicle gateways and driving the Telematics Platform strategy.
About the Role
As the Director of Product Management for the Vehicle Platform, you will create and execute strategies for leveraging vehicle data, drive the Telematics Platform strategy, collaborate with various teams to support vehicle system data ingestion, and lead a high-performing team of product managers. You will also be responsible for ensuring high-quality services and APIs, managing R&D planning, and maintaining relationships with top customers.
About You
Required:
- Experience in a platform product role within a large software development organization.
- Strong technical understanding and ability to establish credibility with engineers.
- Proven track record of delivering results for customers and managing complexity.
- Experience setting strategy for complex technical areas using analytics/data.
- Experience hiring, developing, and leading people as a direct manager.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to customers and executives.
- 10+ years of job experience in relevant product, technical, and/or business roles.
- BS / MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred:
- Experience working in the telematics and/or automotive space.
- Experience working on software platforms supporting $1B+ in revenue.
- Technical familiarity with automotive communication protocols and vehicle onboard diagnostics systems.
- Experience managing firmware-based features.
