Town of Marana is seeking a Dispatcher (Public Safety Telecommunicator) to join their team in Marana, AZ. The role involves dispatching emergency and non-emergency police personnel in response to calls for service.
About the Role
As a Dispatcher, you will act as a liaison between the public and police, determining the necessity for emergency responses, providing information, and utilizing multiple computer systems. You will also initiate radio communication with field personnel, monitor radio frequencies, and maintain required documentation. The position requires varying schedules, including graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays.
About You
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training.
Over six months of customer service experience.
Must pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.
Preferred:
Experience as a public safety dispatcher.
Experience working with confidential information.
