Summary
WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Senior Professional Distribution Engineer to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves providing technical assistance and guidance for utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Professional Distribution Engineer, you will be responsible for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of various projects. Your tasks will include researching and designing transmission and distribution substations, power distribution, and renewable energy systems. You will prepare technical reports, review third-party designs, and ensure compliance with industry standards for safety and functionality.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Experience with utility standards and construction package development.
- Familiarity with distribution design software and the National Electric Safety Code.
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License, or ability to obtain one in Florida.
- Prior utility experience.
- Exposure to utility Design Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, AUD, etc.
- Exposure to work management programs such as Maximo, SAP, etc.
- Ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
