About the Role
As a DoD SkillBridge Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and information security professionals, gaining exposure to modern information system environments. Your responsibilities will include assisting in network configuration, management, and security hardening, participating in vulnerability assessments, and supporting compliance initiatives aligned with DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
About You
Required:
- Must be a current active-duty U.S. service member within 365–180 days of separation or retirement.
- At least four years of experience in cybersecurity, information technology, system administration, or a related technical field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with an ethical and mission-focused mindset.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and associated security configurations.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, or vulnerability scanning platforms.
- Understanding of network protocols, intrusion detection, and incident response methods.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- CASP+ or CISSP certification.
