About the Role
As a Domestic Animal Health Inspector, you will conduct epidemiological investigations to assess domestic animal exposure, identify disease sources, and evaluate the potential spread of diseases such as rabies and avian influenza. You will collaborate with veterinarians and health professionals to ensure adherence to laws and regulations, and support domestic animal disease control programs.
About You
Required:
- Graduation from an approved Veterinary Medical Technology Training program and two years of experience in raising or handling animals used for commercial purposes.
- A bachelor’s degree in Biology, Animal Science, Dairy Science, Poultry Science, or a closely related area with at least 16 credits in animal science.
- Current certification as a Poultry Technician or the ability to gain certification during the probationary period.
- Possession of a valid class C driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Preferred:
- Experience in epidemiological investigations related to animal health.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania's rabies law and disease epidemiology.
