About the Role
As a DSHS BHHA Psychologist- Forensic Evaluator, you will be responsible for completing evaluations focused on competency to stand trial and mental state at the time of the offense. You will collaborate with forensic evaluators across Washington, prepare expert witness testimony, and submit forensic evaluation reports to the court. This position requires in-person work at the King County Correctional Facility, with opportunities for flexible/hybrid work models.
About You
Required:
- Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (Ph.D.)
- Licensed or able to obtain a license to practice psychology in Washington prior to start.
- Strong clinical skills in interviewing, diagnostic clarification, and report writing.
- Experience in conducting competency to stand trial evaluations.
- Knowledge and experience with psychometric testing and risk assessment measures.
Preferred:
- Interest in writing evidence-based evaluations and providing expert testimony.
- Ability to establish collegial relationships with internal and external partners.
- Willingness to relocate to a commuting distance from the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle, WA.
