Summary
State of Washington is seeking a DSHS WSH Stationary Engineer 2 - Boiler Operator to join their team in Walla Walla, WA. The role involves the operation and maintenance of high-pressure boilers at Western State Hospital.
About the Role
As a Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a high-pressure steam plant consisting of 4 high-pressure boilers. Your daily tasks will include operating and maintaining high-pressure boilers, testing boiler room equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and monitoring controls. You will also be required to assist with maintenance needs and work as a relief engineer when necessary.
About You
Required:
- 3 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary or marine high-pressure boilers and heating systems.
- A certificate of completion of an advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college and 2 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary or marine high-pressure boilers and heating systems.
- One year of State service as a Stationary Engineer 1.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of combustion principles.
- Ability to light off high-pressure boilers with manually operated equipment.
- Experience in testing and analysis of feed water for steam boilers.
