Summary
YWCA Hartford Region is seeking an Early Learning Center Instructional Leader to join their team in East Hartford, CT. The role involves overseeing and monitoring teaching practices, classroom management strategies, and facilitating positive interactions with children.
About the Role
As an Instructional Leader, you will provide instructional leadership to ensure effective curriculum delivery and classroom management. You will plan, implement, and evaluate instructional programs, monitor children's progress, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
About You
Required:
- Minimum twelve (12) credits in early childhood education required, or must obtain 12 credits in early childhood education within one year of employment.
- Minimum five (5) years related experience in a child development program required.
- Minimum three (3) years as a head teacher required.
- Basic knowledge of the principles of Child Development required.
- Knowledge of state licensing and accreditation guidelines required.
- CPR/First Aid certification or certification within two months of employment required.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop age-appropriate exhibits and activities for the classroom preferred.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
