Summary
Serco is seeking an Electric Power Generation Engineer to join their team in Washington, D.C. The role involves supporting the design and development of the COLUMBIA Class submarine's Integrated Power System electrical system.
About the Role
As an Electric Power Generation Engineer, you will design and implement electrical power generation systems, develop control systems for power generation components, and collaborate with various stakeholders to meet design requirements. You will ensure that all production units meet established design criteria and maintain high-quality standards.
About You
Required:
- A current or active Secret clearance.
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or other engineering degree or related field.
- 5 years of experience.
- 3 years of experience in the design of military or commercial power generation systems.
- Ability to articulate in both oral and written formats.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Preferred:
- 5 years of experience in the maintenance, operation and issue resolution of power generation systems.
- 3 years of experience with magnetic bearings as applied to power generation systems.
- Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience on VIRGINA class submarines.
