Qualdoc is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join their team in Richmond, VA (Hybrid/Remote Options Available). The role involves supporting electrical design initiatives for high-quality, reliable, and safe power distribution equipment.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer II, you will perform product-level electrical design, including component selection, thermal system design, and mechanical packaging support. You will create engineering specifications for power protection systems, design switchboard circuits, and manage design documentation. Additionally, you will support the integration of third-party devices, contribute to manufacturing documentation, and provide sustaining engineering support for both new and legacy systems.
About You
Required:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
2+ years of electrical design and development experience
Preferred:
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)
Experience designing UL 891 Switchboards
Knowledge of ECNs, BOMs, documentation systems, AutoCAD, and ERP systems
Proficiency with electrical engineering tools (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
Experience in three-phase and electrical power systems
Strong skills in writing, documentation, and communication
Strong laboratory and problem-solving skills
Experience with UL, CSA, IEC electrical safety and EMC requirements for power systems
Experience with environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for commercial and industrial applications
